Government Medical College Udhampur Department of Hospital Administration
The Department of Hospital Administration has been established in GMC Udhampur in 2023.The department is dedicated to provide an evidence based professional healthcare & hospital administration in all its dimensions. The Department aims at providing comprehensive patient-centred healthcare service which is effective, efficient, accessible, acceptable, and equitable, keeping patient safety as the topmost priority. Department of Hospital Administration is commissioned with the following Mission, Vision & Objectives.
MISSION:
To educate future healthcare leaders to apply evidence-based practices and critical thinking skills toward the delivery, organization, and management of health.
The department is committed to make GMC Udhampur a Patient friendly and safe healthcare facility.
The department is committed to facilitate clinicians in monitoring the quality of care rendered, collect relevant data, identify bottle necks, and provide alternative solutions for smooth and better functioning of the institutions/hospitals.
To help in developing the communication and critical thinking skills needed to address, manage, and overcome challenges in administration concerning healthcare.
VISION:
To facilitate rapid advancements in modalities as well as methods of delivery of healthcare.
To pro-actively involve in education and research in the field of application of modern management techniques in Hospital Administration.
To achieve global standards in providing medical education.
To achieve excellence in public health.
To streamline the procurement processes, inventory management and in ensuring effective utilization of resources.
OBJECTIVES:
To discover the principles of health service administration and management that allow for successful planning, organization, management, and evaluation within a healthcare centre or service.
To be able to handle the most common techniques and methodologies used in clinical and healthcare management to critically examine the healthcare system.
To gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for making decisions in the field of the healthcare organization.
To learn about the ethical, social, legal, and financial basis of the healthcare system.
ACADEMICS AND RESEARCH:
To conduct academic and administrative research in healthcare.
Structured teaching and training programs for all cadres of healthcare professionals viz. doctors, nursing, paramedical, and supportive staff to keep them updated not only on the clinical aspect but also on the legal and administrative aspect of healthcare.
